Downsize down days

I haven't been with you for a couple of days, and the reason for this is I have been feeling incredibly down, my motivation has gone from highly motivated to not motivated at all.

Nothing has changed on the home front but I am finding myself unmotivated and disinterested in my diet and exercise, concentration is hard and my tolerance levels are a lot lower than usual which off course is a recipe for stress.

The question I need to ask myself is why, what is it that is making me feel this way? I don't know, I am finding this difficult to explain.

Words of wisdom

This is a poem I found on the web today it's very inspiring.

Don't Quit

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
if you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

Push myself harder

Weight watchers is going well so I have nothing to report on that front, however I have stepped up a notch on my exercise routine and have been doing two spinning sessions a day, I really hope this pays off and is reflected in my weigh in tomorrow.

Generally I have been losing two pounds a week and only exercising around 45 minutes a day but over the last week my exercise has gone from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours a day.

In the back of my mind I know even if the weight loss doesn't increase the exercise wont be in vein...as you know Rome wasn't built in a day and all those pounds which took years to pile on wont take days to come off!

The emperor's new clothes or not as the case may be!

I have been eagerly awaiting the time when my clothes don't actually fit anymore, in the sense that they are TOO BIG yes that's right they are too big, and I stand befuddled in front of my wardrobe wondering what the heck to wear.

Well that time has come, the clothes that I could wear successfully a few weeks ago now hang in loose and unflattering folds. But my dilemma is my goal weight is still several pounds away and its not time to invest in a whole new wardrobe.

I understand that this is a happy dilemma, but a dilemma all the same for a soon to be slimmer girl. The question I ask myself is what do I do now?

Prior to my weight loss journey I was fitting into size 18 clothes both top and bottom, since losing 15 pounds I have downsized considerably and am happily getting into size 14's. Though it is not obvious to the on looking eye because I am unable to emphasize my chiseled down figure as I am still wearing size 18 clothes.

There is nothing more exhilarating than to have the feeling that my clothes are too big. The general consensus from diet gurus is that you must show off the "new you" in order to help you feel good about yourself no matter where you are in your programme. I have decided against this and am awaiting the time where I can go on a huge shopping spree and dump my size 18's once and for all.

I understand that clothes can be a barometer of how you feel, as well as how much you weigh, the rule of thumb is that losing 8 to 10 pounds translates to going down one size. Still, if you lose up to 15 pounds, you may be OK in your old size. So for this reason I have decided to hang on in there.

Good day at the office

Yes I know it's Sunday and I don't work, but today was a very good day at the office, in fact a very productive day as far as my exercise routine is concerned. The morning brought with it a surge of energy and the desire to jump on the spinning bike was stranger than ever.

A fantastic workout today, the exercise felt good and I feel I am regaining some of my strength and stamina. Although my timing was lousy the fact that I managed a 1 hour spinning session this morning followed by a 1 mile session on the treadmill this afternoon ,was great. My usual routine is about 45 minutes in total of cardio exercise consisting of the rowing machine, treadmill and spinning bike.

I'm well on my way to reaching my goals...just watch this space.

I wish you all a fantastic Monday! :)

The weekend has arrived

I have been incredibly busy since Friday morning and have been unable to update my blog, but here I am now. The weight watchers is going fine, better than I had anticipated, in fact I couldn't be on a better weight loss program.

So the question remains what else is there in my life that I can share with you... the answer is simple! what did I do before I embarked on this weight loss journey.
