“Healthy eating is a way of balancing the food you eat to keep your body strong, energized, and well nourished.” Though I may rely on this advice and guidance from nutritional experts, my weight watcher leader and friends alike, in the end it is me and me alone who is responsible for making my final decisions.
I say this with great caution as my head does not always agree with my heart. In theory a very simple choice do I have a healthy Sunday traditional dinner or do I go for the delightful Indian cuisine I have had for many years. Although I am on the weight watchers points plan I find it near impossible to calculate the points of any Indian dishes that my family or indeed I cook. The main reason for this is the over use of oil in the dishes, especially lamb curry and pilau rice.
In the end I didn’t give in to temptation and decided to have a salad with pita bread, I hope this is reflected in my weigh in on Thursday.
