Why I decided to lose weight

It has just dawned on me since starting this blog I have not actually shared with you the reasons why I want to lose weight. The primary reason for wanting to lose weight is to maintain and indeed improve my health, there have been many instances recently in my life that have forced me to the conclusion that nothing is more valuable than a persons health. It is insignificant what type of house we live in, or how much money we have, if we don't have our health we are indeed poor. Society makes available many resources which help us rid us of our problems, but being overweight is a problem we have to take responsibility for ourselves, and for this reason I decided that the time has come for me to take action.

There has also been times in my life where I have wanted to partake in certain activities such as walking, running and other outdoor sports, unfortunately due to my poor state of fitness I was unable to get involved and thus would shy away from all forms of physical activity. I don't know whether I have mentioned this before but I am approaching my mid thirties and a mother of three children, not being able to get involved in fun sports has always made me feel a little useless.

Finally I have always loved to look good and smart but this was becoming difficult as my ever expanding waistline was posing a threat to the type of clothes I could wear. If I continued with my current lifestyle I was condemning myself to shop in EVANS for the next 30 years.(the shop for big girls!)

Looking at things in the cold light of day it simply wasn't good enough to take the easy and lazy route, which is what I was doing.
